Summary

A collection of custom websites and internal business applications developed for a lighting company.

The work covered more than the public-facing websites. I worked across application development, database design, administration, deployment, server maintenance, and domain management.

One of the larger projects involved updating an existing API and extending it with new functionality. A key addition was a reseller marketplace that allowed different resellers to operate within the same platform.

As part of the modernization work, existing production data was migrated and processed in batches to improve performance and make the updated system more efficient.

The websites and applications were also continuously updated based on reported bugs, customer feedback, and new business requirements.

My Role

I worked across the full development lifecycle, from database and application development through deployment and server administration.

I had direct responsibility for the development infrastructure, including source control, automated testing, deployment pipelines, application servers, databases, and domain management.

I also implemented automated testing and deployment workflows, allowing changes to be tested and deployed automatically after being pushed to the repository.

This gave me ownership across both the software and infrastructure sides of the system, rather than limiting my role to application development. across both the software and infrastructure sides of the system, including application maintenance, server management, and domain administration.
